Chart templates auto-saving

The setting allows you to enable or disable local auto-saving of chart templates.

By default, after making changes to the TV chart, the chart is automatically saved in the browser's local storage, within the current template.

If you disable the auto-saving feature for the chart, a "Save" label appears under the template name whenever you make changes to the chart. To save the changes in the template, you need to click on the template name.

When might you need this feature?

For instance, if you manage multiple assets and frequently switch between them. With auto-saving enabled, due to browser limitations, the chart may refresh, which can hinder your ability to respond promptly to market conditions. To avoid this issue, you can turn off the auto-saving feature. However, we recommend working on charting in a single tab because, with multiple tabs, only the changes in the last active tab are saved.

Example: On the left changes have been made to the chart, on the right the chart is saved with no changes:

Important! By default, chart templates are saved in the browser's local storage and are only accessible on the current device and in the current browser. To access chart templates from another browser or device, you need to save the template(s) on the server. You can do this in two ways:

  1. Right-click anywhere on the chart to bring up the context menu and select "Save Chart to Server".
  2. Click the "Gear" icon below the price column, and in the menu that appears, choose "Save Chart to Server".
